I ran across this article the other day about Benedictine Academy (NJ) in which students from the junior class were able to learn outside of the classroom - basically by shadowing local professionals.
“(from the article) The purpose of Bee Week is to provide a professional work site or experience that will motivate students to see the importance of their academic studies in relationship to future success in the workplace,”
This reminds me of the my local school district's Chelsea Center that does a similar program and more.
Do your local schools do anything similar? Have you participated? It would be pretty cool if your outreach inspired a student, and we'd love to hear about it!
